In the home mortgage business it pays to be cynical. To do a service to my clients I assume nothing and trust no one until I have confirmed all the segments of the process that will get the home buyer to the closing table with mortgage loan money in hand.
However, when something works like it is supposed to I have to celebrate that as well! And as far as the $8000 Tax Credit for First Time Homebuyers, I am happy to report that the system works!
I received a call from one of my clients who submitted the paperwork to obtain the refund. They called to tell me they loved their new home and that they got their money in five weeks!
Sure…they qualified, they followed all the rules, and they submitted the proper paperwork in the proper fashion, but it literally paid off! As a mortgage broker, it is very rewarding when you see a client get their home loan, get their home, and then expeditiously receive the incentive that started the process in the first place.
