As many of you know, I am a Tampa mortgage broker by day and a technophile by night. My love for technology is not just in the “the one with the most toys wins” kind of way, but in how efficiently it helps me in my home mortgage loan business.
As a true illustration, this blog post is a shout out to Mozy.Com. I praised this cyber-storage file back-up company before and they just saved me once again.
What’s to love about this company? They are inexpensive, easy to use, and do what they say they are going to do! Could you ask for anything more in a technology?
But first of all, like any database or program, the principles of garbage in – garbage out do apply. (This is the part where I take some credit for the save.) I am vigilant about backing up my files because all my appointments and to-do’s and documentation that I provide to mortgage loan seekers are incredibly organized.
But when a virus hits your files and your desktop programs in one fell swoop, at first you freak and then you log on to Mozy and then you receive full file restoration. So after having my computer’s hardware revived yesterday, I logged onto Mozy.Com at 6:30 this morning to let the downloading begin!
At the end of the day this was just a little burp with a big back-up. This experience could have been bad, but actually, it only served to encourage my technophilia!
